Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up its... exhibition time!
With the olympics about to start in Rio I thought I would use them to highlight the importance of team work at your exhibition.
At any exhibition the team of people on your exhibition stand will range from 2 - 20 people, depending on the size of exhibition space you have booked. Just like an olympic bob sleigh team, or any team for that matter, you need to work together effectively to see the best return from your investment.
So here are a couple of key points to help you and your team make your next exhibition the most successful one yet!
1) Substitutions - just like in a sports team, bringing on a fresh player can work wonders at your exhibition. Give each other regular breaks, get out side and take in some fresh air, I estimate that around 2 hours is the maximum someone can maintain a high level of concentration for at an exhibition, so every 2 hours get outside or sit down for 15 minutes!
2) Performance reviews - In any sport the key to improving is sitting down after each event and seeing where you can improve, even Usain Bolt does this so if you think you cannot improve anymore, think again! Most exhibitions run over a couple of days so you have the luxury of being able to do this after each day ready for the next! If your event is only a one day make sure you do it after the event but close the next event so that it is fresh in your mind!
3) Tactics - Every single sportsman out there will have specific tactics they are going to stick to and so should you. Figure out your game plan for the exhibition and what it is you are going to push, is it lead generation? Is it selling on the day? Is it simply flag waving for the company? Decide on what it is you are going to do and make sure the team stick to it!
